Make them Suffer!!!

Lets be real, Australia has been home to some of the greatest modern metal bands of the last decade. From Parkway Drive, to Thy Art is Murder, to Ne Obliviscaris to Polaris and so much more, many people have been calling Australia the Sweden of the South Pacific. Make them Suffer is another band that you must here if you haven’t already, for they are a band that will inflict your wounds and heal them right after.
Their new singles, Drown in Me and Erase Me are great representations on what this group is capable of executing both technically, lyrically and more.
Drown in Me starts off with super powerful drum-fill that leads you followed by down-tuned riffs that will hit you square in the face. Once the vocals come in, all hell breaks loose. It delivers pure momentum and then when the clean vocals come in, it represents an element of tenderness. This is a combination of the darkest dark and the brightest light in this genre of metalcore. This is a sonic rollercoaster of emotion that takes you on an epic 4-minute ride. They have stated that this is meant to be a “fucked up love song”, but this is a track that tackles all forms of love, hate, darkness and beauty.
This is interesting contrast between their previous single Erase Me that is more driven from its melody. While there is a constant relentless force behind it that pulls no punches, Erase Me has more of an emphasis on the emotional aspects of Make them Suffer with the use of keyboards and more fluctuating between the vocals of Sean and Booka.
Either way, both of these singles deliver intensity, emotion, brutality and imagery that will easily solidify Make them Suffer’s music last through multiple generations. Whether you want to call them metalcore, symphonic dethcore, melodic death metal, ect, Make them Suffer has their own identity where just saying their band name is all you need to do to show people what they are all about.

How to Survive a Funeral will be out later this year on Rise Records \m/
