Astronoid- A band that turns reality into a dream

In 2016, a band from Massachusetts called Astronoid out an album called Air. Instantly, many lovers of heavy music got on board with their heavy riffing, mesmerizing vocals, insane rhythm and their overall sound. Now we are into 2019 as they begin a new record cycle with their self-titled record, and they are now a band that we all know and love from their signature sound they are able to demonstrate.

On June 28th, 2019, Astronoid hit St Vitus with Infinity Shred and these artists were able to transform a room that every metal head in NYC is familiar with into an alternate reality. With the St Vitus logo in the background still present and the usual people behind the bar that we all know and love, they still transformed this venue into a real that one can only assume that we see in our dreams.

When Infinity Shred took the stage, they were able to utilize their light in combine with their very experimental sound. With this band having elements of EDM, orchestral elements, shoegaze, progressive and everything in between, their sound went along with their lights as these three individuals pounded us full force. It was mesmerizing, engaging and terrifying all at the same time. Many Astronoid fans are now on board with this project as these fellow New Yorkers decimated the stage and made it their own. Many people have something to look forward to as their album, Forever, A Fast Life will be coming out August 23rd.

At last, we get Astronoid. Astronoid is a band that is able to make any venue into their own. Whether it is a smaller venue like Knitting Factory or St Vitus, or a larger venue like Irving Plaza or Music Hall of Williamsburg, no matter when, where, or how you see them, you are always getting the full experience. Playing their entire new album in its entirety plus three classics from their previous record Air, eyes were on the band the whole time and while the band never left the stage, neither was the engagement of the audience. With Matt’s intense drumming holding the rhythm and time of the band together with pure intensity, Dan’s impressive finger picking on the bass that made both the melody and rhythm together, and Casey’s intense shredding and riffing along with his headbanging that added so much energy and vibe, to Brett’s great guitar soling and soothing voice to serenate and terrify an audience, you have the perfect band that you can hear in your dreams, and can lift you up to the light, and lead you into a catacomb of darkness at the same time. While this band has a very dream-like effect, keeping the audience engaged and focused, there is not a single static moment you will see with these band members as they constantly have movement along with their music and the lights on stage that create an atmosphere and alternative reality like no other. This is a band that can make you smile and cry at the same time.
