Northlane delivers the goods once again.

Australia might as well be known as the Sweden of the Pacific at this point. Parkway Drive, Polaris, Thy Art is Murder, Make them Summer, Aversions Crown and so much more. Northlane is one of the many bands of Australia flying the flag high in that regard. They have been on a never-ending, ass-kicking momentum as their fan-base continues to grow and continue to make music that delivers melody, brutality, emotion and atmosphere. From their amazing album Alien that came out in 2019 to playing sold out shows all over North America, Northlane is killing it in more ways than one.  Their new single Enemy of the Night showcases their technical excellence and emotion that is channeled into their art.

When this song starts, it utilizes an interesting use of dialogue over very distorted and unsettling riffs, setting a very suspenseful tone that builds up before kicking in full force at 30 seconds. Then they immediately pull back with very tame and calm clean vocals over very calm instrumentation that is very atmospheric and emotional. There is one buildup after another and showcases all sides of them emotionally and technically. There are elements of Northlane being in your face and also being mysterious. Has the perfect bridge between chaos and structure.

From theirs signature sound, to their intense live shows, to their dedicated fans, Northlane are more than ready to continue to push the boundaries of aggressive music. Delivering another great single to hold us over while we wait for this pandemic to end, and a followup to Alien, Northlane is a band that is there for us as much as we are there for them.

Check out their new single here.
