The CDC Recommends shortening time for Doom Metal Albums

Following the latest guidance for quarantine upon positive Covid tests, the CDC also insisted that certain Doom bands cut down the time of their outrageously long song lengths. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky sites bands such as Yob, Bellwitch, among other bands saying that we don’t need to hear the same depressing and distorted riff patterns for 40 minutes. Cutting it down to a simple 3 minute structure is totally reasonable.

Walensky has stated: Enough is enough. All these dark and depressing doom albums can be cut from their average song length of 40 minutes to 2 hours to a simple 3 minute long song. The riffs are depressing enough for that time period and they don’t need to be extended even further. We will be out of the pandemic by the time we are done listening to Mirror Reaper by Bellwitch for example. Same can go for Pallbearer, Yob among others”.
