The Arson Choir – Invisible Monsters EP Review
Post hardcore is another genre that is able to maintain its edge, aggression, message and meaning. Celebrating the 20 Year anniversary of post hardcore classics albums such as Relationship of Command and Everything you Ever Wanted to Know About Silence, and with the times of uncertainty that we are in, it is only appropriate that this genre continues to push in the forefront with new faces to fly the flag.

In four merciless tracks showcasing groove and all out intensity with brutality honest lyrics that are upfront about certain issues, The Arson Choir is a band that has everything we know and love from this genre and then some.
The first track, The Chemical Curse Wastes no time into kicking with full on brutality and intensity. The riffs demonstrate great groove and are fully present. The lyrics deliver brutal honesty behind the aggression. The track has a great element of both experimentation and consistency. The first single Revenge my Love, is one of the most upfront songs. There doesn’t need to be too much analyzing to understand what these lyrics are about. With very upfront and vivid imagery in the lyrics combined with a structure that moves in multiple directions will help a listener indulge in a realm of pure imagery. Gorr was right delivers a narrative right out of the gate with hard hitting rhythm and vocals that are full on in your face followed by intense down-tuned riffs that demonstrate no mercy. Ending with Vanisher, the lyrics have both hardcore tendencies and even guttural elements as well. It is straight forward and to the point. The track is able to end the EP on a suspenseful note by varying more in tempos and even incorporating some violent breakdown elements and most importantly, leave you wanting more.

With a familiar, yet fresh sound, as well as an important message that is needed more than ever, The Arson Choir are a band that will take us back in time for a better future. For lovers of classic bands such as At the Drive-In, Glassjaw, Quicksand, and Poison the Well, The Arson Choir is a modern day band that will continue to pulverize lovers of this genre both on the stage and off of it.
