3teeth at Bowery Ballroom

August 1st 2019 at Bowery Ballroom will be a show that proves that Industrial Music is alive and well with brand new faces to show it. 3teeth, Author and Punisher and GosT delivered a sonically horrifying sound that was a knife-edge between tranquility and brutality. Whether you were listening to Nine Inch Nails and Ministry back in the Wax Trax days, or a new school industrial fan, every fan was satisfied with the heavy synths and insane production lighting.

Opening the stage, we get GosT. These two individuals come on stage in corpse paint and with this dusty bright light shining behind them, it was inducing an essence of hell with the light of the heavens. With their imagery combined with their sound, it was like Lords of Chaos and the Matrix in one film. The voice you heard would have this raw atmospheric scream while also utilizing a sense of melody that is almost reminiscent of Ministry’s With Sympathy era. These guys did not have a single static moment on stage, as if the stage moved along with them. Their sound of heavy industrial, synth wave, and touches of black metal, their show can induce horrify you to the core and mesmerize you at the same time.

Next we get the artist who will be the first thing to come to your mind when you hear the term DIY, Author and Punisher. The production, the tools and of course, the music all comes from the hands, the hear and the mind of Tristan Shone. The way he is able to create his own industrial assault on a viewer, but it is also performance art. You can see this on a stage or even in an art gallery. The way Tristan is able to operate all his own instrumentals and sounds, it is part of the performance and experience. What you see is what you get. While there are computers and more technical elements involved, it is as raw of a performance as you can get. One can only imagine what it would be like if he made is own venue.

Last, but not least we get the headliner, 3teeth. As stated before, Industrial is in great hands and 3teeth is a band that is a pure testament to that. With these red lights combined with strobes, you see these silhouettes moving along with the catchy groove and noise, they were able to not only create a show for the audience, they were able to create a show with the audience. The audience moved just as much as the band and created an all out assault of pure noise amongst everyone else. Many people discovered 3teeth when they saw them open for Rammstein back in 2017 at Jones Beach. Who knew that that performance was history in the making? 3teeth is going to continue to hold the torch for industrial, and their new album Metawar out, it can be considered an industrial classic such as Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste or Pretty Hate Machine.
