While She Sleeps First North American Headline Tour.

Massachusetts spawned a genre known Metalcore, with notable acts such as Killswitch Engage, All that Remains, Shadows Fall, Unearth and more. Over the years, this amazing scene spread internationally over to the UK. Asking Alexandria, Bury Tomorrow, Bullet for my Valentine, Architects and of course, While She Sleeps.

While She Sleeps have been one of the most notable opening acts, touring with bands such as Parkway Drive, Arch Enemy, Trivium and Architects. 7 years after their debut US Tour, they return to the US for their first headline show. The succeeded tremendously playing for a half hour, but for an hour and a half, they were able to do everything we all know and love from this group, and then some.

Headlining Gramercy Theater 2/19/20, is is fairy to assume that everyone in that venue was walking away happy.

Opening, we get New York City’s own, The Machinist. Machinists has been representing NY metal perfectly and this show was a testament to that. Their new album Confimidus in Morte packs hardcore and dethcore and with Amanda, Josh, Toby and Steve’s phenomenal stage presents, they were able to spawn the first pit of the night. The Machinist packs energy, power and pressence that makes everyone standing in the danger zone find comfort in it. Recently signing to Prosthetic Records, and touring constantly, they are more the ready to take the world by storm.

Next we get Savage Hands. Despite touring in the Us quite frequently, this was their first show in the city and boy, was it worth the wait! Their newest album, The Truth in Your Eyes packs raw emotion and energy and this group was able to replicate it to a T. Playing a song many people know and love, Demon, you almost forgot for a second that this was the opening band on the tour. Savage Hands is a band that brings alternative rock and metalcore and creates their own craft that is sonically beautiful. Add the visual esthetic and stage presence, they are amazing in all aspects.

He is Legend takes the stage, and this is when shit really hits the fan. Schuylar Croom is a legend in his own right. He clearly has the ability to go away when he sings, and in turn, the audience goes away with him. Their newest release, White Bat, packs intensity and groove with their signature sound of hard rock and post hardcore. Playing their newest single Eye Teeth, this band was able to demonstrate their techincal excellence and their ability to execute their material live perfectly while also incorporating a stage presence like no other. These guys truly do not give a f*ck and it works in their favor perfectly.

At last, we get While She Sleeps. It is fair to assume that every band has some sort of anxiety on their US tour being that all eyes are on them and if their music is reaching internationally. Luckily, they were all worried for nothing. While She Sleeps wasted no time in kicking in with their signature sound of Metalcore and not having a single static moment on stage. Once all 5 members were on stage, there was not a single static moment, for the band, audience, production and just about everything in the venue was moving.

With songs as heavy as Fakers Plague, and Four Walls, they had an intense moshpit as well as a tsunami of crowdsurfers. Songs such as Inspire or The Guilty Party packed melodic and heavy tendencies that will make the audience sing, obtain goosebumps and go all out with pure insanity.

The band demonstrated just as much energy as the audience, almost to the point where it was hard to distinguish the two. When they played their classic Hurricane, vocalist Loz, harmonizing with the voices of the audience is a sound that is mesmerizing and chilling at the same time. The ability that Matand Sean were able to demonstrate with their guitars incorporate intense riffs and incredible soloing, they created as much emotion and melody as the vocals. Add Adam and Aaran holding the rhythm section to a T, you have rhe ultimate band. While she sleeps brought aggression, soul, beauty, emotion and everything in between. At a While She Sleeps show, the sky is the limit in whay both the band and the audience is able to do.
Right now, the UK has been the leading refion for metalcore in its purest forms. With Architects, Bury Tomorrow, Employed to Serve, Shvpes and While She Sleeps delivering this incredible sound, metalcore is in great hands both listening to an album and seeing them live.
