May the Fests be with you.
While the decade of the 2010’s is going down in history, the beginning of the 2020s is going to be going up in flames! Even before the end of the year, many amazing tours have been announced and already we got three major festivals that are going to be delivering pure rock and metal on North America. With all these festivals being announced, just about the majority of hotels in the surrounding areas have already sold out, giving a clear representation that the festivals will sell out too.

The first three festivals that were announced are the Danny Wimmer Festivals, which are Epicenter in North Carolina, Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Florida and Sonic Temple in Columbus Ohio. These three festivals have Metallica headlining two of the nights while packing in some major bands that deliver their own sound, intensity and vibe. While we wait for some of the metal gods to headline, we get to see some of the greatest representations of the legacy that they have left.

Epicenter being one of the first festivals, which is held on May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, of the year has Metallica headlining night 1 and night 3 while Disturbed headlines the second night. Legends both in the classical realm and the modern realm will be there to deliver. In addition, you have David Lee Roth, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Anthrax brining a great classical rock and metal vibe. We also get Volbeat , Saint Asonia and Alter Bridge delivering their great modern rock vibe as well. You want heavy? You got it. How about some classic New York City hardcore at these festivals? Agnostic Front and Sick of it All will be brining in the sonic brutality and attitude we all know and love from this genre, and if you want some modern hardcore, look no further than Code Orange and Power Trip. Want some more heavy? How about Gojira or Jinjer? How about some variety in the lineup? You got Cyprus Hill and Ghostmane delivering their signature styles to maintain the edge but with a different flavor. Metalcore seems to also be a must for this festival and you got it as well with bands such as Ice Nine Kills, Of Mice & Men, Fire from the Gods, and Crown the Empire. Of course, no festival would be complete without some newer bands to get on board with, and Epicenter has just that as well. After their kick ass tour with Deep Purple, Joyous Wolf will be bringing their classic modern rock sound as well, band such as SKYND or 3teeth brining some industrial and so much more.

Welcome to Rockville on may 8th, 9th and 10th, utilizes the same headliners as Epicenter but a whole fresh package to support it. While we have some familiar faces from Epicenter on the bill such as Deftones, Hellyeah and Godsmack, and more just incase you couldn’t make it to North Carolina, they bring the almighty Lamb of God and Mastodon on board. While we get some classic punk at Epicenter with Rancid, this time we get The Offspring on night 2 supporting Disturbed. How about Social Distortion also being added to the bill?! Also cattering to the classic, yet modern rock sound, we also get The Pretty Reckless back on board as well.

Ending the first round of May festivals, we move up to Sonic Temple in Columbus Ohio on may 15th, 16th and 17th. With Metallica on night one and three, night two ends with pure brutality when we end with the almighty Slipknot on night 2! Adding more to the whole punk vibe, Pennywise will also be playing on this beast of a festival. We also feature the return of Bring me the Horizon! Not only do we have Chino of Deftone’s soothing voice, but Amy Lee of Evanescence will also be there to add chills and emotion. With Code Orange also on the bill, we are able to add more flavor to the modern hardcore sound with Knocked Loose added to the bill. All with a killer lineup, we also get plenty of art installations as well to really cater not only to the art of extreme music, but to cater to the arts all together.
Just to think, there is more to come from all these festivals. We are still waiting on the lineups for Louder than Life, Aftershock and more. In the end, we have these amazing festivals with killer headliners as well as the ability to really push some newer artists to carry the flag further in the realm of extreme music!!! Don’t miss out on these kick ass festivals \m/ \m/
